Windows might warn you about this build.

The installer isn't code-signed yet, so Windows may show its unrecognised-app screen the first time you run it. The three clicks are the same ones you'd use for any small independent tool.

The download is verifiable either way — its checksum and cryptographic signature are just below.Or install from the Microsoft Store, where the build is signed and this screen never appears.
01
Open the file

Windows shows a blue screen saying it protected your PC.

02
Choose “More info”

It names the app as DeckShot; the publisher reads unknown until the build is signed.

03
Then “Run anyway”

The installer opens and behaves like any other.

You don't have to take the download on trust.

The installer isn't code-signed yet, so the checks are yours to run. Every release carries a checksum and a cryptographic signature — the same signature DeckShot verifies before it installs an update.

Three things it needs, and you almost certainly have them.

Windows 10 or 11

64-bit. DeckShot runs as a normal desktop app — no driver, no service.

The Elgato apps you already use

Stream Deck, Wave Link, Camera Hub, Control Center and Video Capture are found on their own.

Somewhere to keep backups

A local disk, an external drive or a network share. Configs are small; Stream Deck's icon packs are the exception.

The first run takes a few seconds, and then it is doing its job.

There is nothing to configure. The one decision is where the copies live, and the default is fine.

01It finds your apps

No paths to enter. DeckShot reads where each Elgato app keeps its configuration and takes the first backups within seconds.

02You pick where copies live

Documents by default, or anywhere you'd keep something you'd hate to lose. It can be changed later.

03Then it stops asking

Nightly, on a config change, and after an app update. There is no dashboard to check.

Backups stay free, forever. So does restore, for one app.

Backups, history, inspect and diff stay free for every app, forever. Restore is free too, for the app you choose. A licence unlocks restore for every app.

FREEFree · forever

Every app backed up; restore for the one you choose.

LICENCE$13 · once, up to 3 machines

Restore every app, for good. No renewal.

It uninstalls cleanly, and it leaves your backups alone.

The app

Add or remove programs → DeckShot → Uninstall. No service to stop, no driver to unwind.

Your backups

Left exactly where you chose. Dated folders of plain files — readable without DeckShot installed.

Its own settings

%APPDATA%\DeckShot holds the schedule and the app list. Delete it or don't; nothing else is touched.
